It shall not be lawful to construct, alter, repair, remove or demolish or to commence
the construction, alteration, repair, removal or demolition of a building or structure
within St. Lucie County not included in the corporate limits of any town and city
without first filing with such employee of the board of county commissioners, as such
board may determine, an application in writing and obtaining a formal permit. Any
permit under which no work is commenced within ninety (90) days after issuance shall
expire unless renewed prior to the expiration date. A copy of all permits issued shall
be delivered to the county assessor of taxes of said counties by the issuing officer.
The person authorized to issue a permit may revoke same in case there has been any
false statement or misrepresentation as to the material facts in the application or
plans on which the permit was based.
